Producing
Music Production is taking an idea and creating a final, studio-quality track through the use of recording, editing, mixing, and mastering audio.

If you wanted to get a song arranged for a cappella first, please visit my Arranging page instead for information on custom arrangements! Or, if you would rather view my previous works, please visit my Portfolio page!
Here are the production services I offer:
Recording is the process of converting audio into a digital form using transducers (usually microphones), various pieces of equipment using a knowledge of signal flow, and most often onto a digital audio workstation (DAW). Recording audio is done in a studio setting in which the area has been acoustically treated with acoustic paneling and various forms of diffusers. A MIDI track is often used in conjunction with a click track to help the client record as accurately as possible. An initial amount of filters and EQ can be applied in this stage before being edited in the DAW.
I am currently working on setting up a studio to be available for recording local groups very soon. I will update this section with more information once recording sessions become available!
If you are not local to the Northern Oregon/Southern Washington area, but are still interested in having your music recorded, please still reach out using the form below. I would be happy to recommend ways of recording music on your own, or if you already have the right equipment, we could look into the prospects of having a virtual recording session!
Editing involves adjusting initial volume and panning, quantizing vocals to a grid, pitch correction, and organizing tracks within a DAW. Using tools such as Melodyne or AutoTune, vocals can be slightly altered to adhere to a specific key or set of notes, without erasing any quality or individuality. Each track can be quantized further, most easily using elastic audio, to a preferred amount if it wasn’t already auto-quantized during the recording process. Once tracks are edited and aligned with each other, a final edit volume and level of panning are set.
I almost exclusively use Melodyne for very gentle pitch correction (I only use AutoTune for effects if that is requested).
In order to be upfront with my client, I charge per vocal track that I’m editing, as opposed to per hour, so that there are no surprises at the end of the process. If you’re interested in getting a quote, please fill out the form below.
Mixing pertains to the blending of every track being used in a DAW, mostly done by using filters, equalization techniques, dynamics processing, and occasionally sound effects. High-pass and low-pass filters are used in conjunction with the equalization of specific frequencies to produce a specific range of sound from each track, while compressors and expanders are used to adjust how loud or soft certain sounds or specific ranges of volumes should be. Delay and reverb can also be applied at this stage for a cohesive sound or if specific effects are wanted. A final, balanced volume for all of the tracks after being mixed is set.

Mastering is the final step of the music production process in which final plug-ins are used to prepare a song for its release in various formats. A final equalization plug-in and limiter plug-in are commonly used at this stage on the master track to have it meet volume standards and blend well among all the individual tracks within it. Dither can also be applied here if a song is being planned for release at a lower sample rate or bit depth. If an album is being produced, some final mixing touch-ups (usually Reverb) can be added to each overall track to create a cohesive sound between each song.
In order to be upfront with my client, I charge per song that I’m mastering, as opposed to per hour, so that there are no surprises at the end of the process. If you’re interested in getting a quote, please fill out the form below.
Video Production is the creation of videos using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas Pro. Video clips can be adjusted on a timeline, spliced and grouped, and have a variety of effects and animations applied to them. Audio can also be paired with clips and moved along these timelines to match up visually with video clips. Individual keyframes are often used with chroma key effects, in conjunction with green screen backgrounds in order to add special visual effect backgrounds.
I exclusively use Sony Vegas Pro for all of my video projects. I specialize in making square-style videos for contemporary a cappella content creators, but can produce demo reels and use basic special effects and animations.
For an example of my video production work, please check out my Demo Reel at the top of my Portfolio page, or for an example of square-style videos, you can check out “Higher Love” performed by Mind the Gap on YouTube!
Due to varying requests and work done on producing a video, rates will greatly vary. If you’re interested in discussing options over email and getting a quote, please fill out the form below.
More information regarding payment, turnaround time, ownership, and receiving your finished product can be found below the Production Form!

More Information
Payment
I currently accept payments using Google Pay and Venmo, as well as payments via universities and other organizations using direct deposit or sent via check. If you would like to use a different method of payment (PayPal, Cashapp, personal checks, etc.), please let me know in the production form and I will try to accommodate as best as I can.
Turnaround Time and Rush Orders
While Recording and Video Production turnaround times will vary greatly, all Editing, Mixing, and Mastering projects will have a turnaround time of at least 1 week. Depending on my schedule, it could end up being longer, but a turnaround date for any project will be established and agreed upon between both parties via email before the process is started. After completing the production form, you should receive an email back within 2-3 business days. If you haven’t heard back by then, please be sure to double check your spam folder!
If a final product ends up being needed before the turnaround date that is agreed upon between both parties, it may still be possible to receive your final product in time, but a 25% Rush Fee will be added to your invoice.
Revision and Changes
Once you have received your final product, you will have one week to review it and let me know of any revisions you want to have made. Please be aware, however, that (exceptions aside) only edits to the current production can be made (i.e. no recording changes can happen during the mixing stage, no editing changes can happen during the mastering stage, etc). After reviewing your list of revisions, a new turnaround date will be agreed upon between both parties. At that time, the revised version of your final product will be sent to you personally at no extra charge. The production process at this point will be considered done.
If a week goes by after receiving the final product without having heard back about any revisions, the production process will also be considered done.
If an individual or group realizes they want revisions to be made after a week has passed, it may still be possible to get the revisions made, but will cost a fee. The fee may vary, depending on my schedule at the time, as well as the extent of revisions that must be made. Both a price and turnaround date will be agreed upon between both parties before moving on with the late revisions.
